Philip Cunningham

I lead the Corporate and Commercial Team and I liaise regularly with banks, accountants, financial advisers, private equity firms and other professional service providers to ensure our clients have access to an adviser who understands both their business and legal needs.

I believe strongly in building a relationship with a client that goes beyond being just a resource when needed and more a partner who offers sound judgment and advice.

I’m a member of the IOD (Kent), CBI and Kent Economic Board (Business Advisory Group).

I studied law at University College London and trained at Allen & Overy. I assisted in building the corporate finance departments telecoms practice. I then moved to Switzerland as senior legal counsel and Vice President (Projects Directorate) at Swisscom AG (a former client) in Bern before joining Brachers in 2007.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling and have visited more than sixty countries in the past 10 years. I like nothing better than waking up in a new exotic city with the smells and sounds of an exciting new experience awaiting.

I also enjoy sport, particularly five-a-side, collect chess sets and read avidly. I am currently still supporting a family of four students (including my wife of 25 years who has just embarked on a degree course).
