Shirley Moore

I lead the busy Brachers debt team and specialise in insolvency litigation with an emphasis on advising Insolvency Practitioners on a range of issues, predominantly in relation to personal insolvency.
Following a secondment to Milton Keynes in 1997 (don’t ask) I have also developed an expertise in credit management and outsourcing which was meant the team is now able to offer an even wider range of receivables management solutions to our clients.
As the relevant Brachers Partner and a member of the Institute of Credit Mangement, I am a regular contributor of articles and commentary to the local and credit industry press on debt and insolvency related issues and am a member of a panel of experts for the Credit Today publication.
I started my professional life in-house with a large insurance company in London before deciding that I’d had enough of the interminable commute. I then worked locally, practising family law before taking a role in local government. From there back to private practice to return to civil litigation, including debt recovery and on to Brachers in 1995. Since then I have widened the practice to include credit management and became head of the Debt Recovery & Insolvency Team in 2004.
I am probably best known amongst my clients and colleagues for my less than conventional choice of holiday destinations. I am also actively involved with a number of local and worldwide charities.
